How Ozone Works

Ozone (O3) is an unstable molecule with a third oxygen atom that breaks off and bonds to organic compounds on contact. This oxidation reaction neutralizes the chemical compounds that produce odor — converting them into odorless byproducts. Ozone works on odor molecules in the air and on exposed surfaces simultaneously.

When Ozone Effectively Removes Pet Odor

When Ozone Is Not Enough on Its Own

The crystals remain, and when humidity rises, they off-gas odor right back into the space that was just treated.
